Large Scarecrow Quest Walkthrough (East)

FULLY UPDATED to Patch 1.2!

vocation_iconThis guide shows how to efficiently get your large scarecrow on the eastern continent. It assumes you have already completed the small scarecrow and donkey quests.

IMPORTANT: Turning in tradepacks for the quests costs 60 LABOR.

Trade Run: Tigerspine to Austera

Trading Guide Sahel at Anvilton in Tigerspine Mountains will offer this quest after you complete your donkey quest. You have some planting to do (unless you plan to use the trading post).

1. Planting time.

You’ll need 30 grapes and 50 chopped produce total for this quest. Be aware you can plant the potatoes at the public farm in Anvilton.

  • Buy and plant 5-8 grapevines (Sapling Merchant sells). (Note: More plants will require less time/fewer harvests but cost more)
  • Buy and plant 20-23 potato seeds (Seed Merchant sells)
  • Water the potatoes. Water is free from wells.

2. Get a headstart on the next quest.

MAKE SURE YOU KEEP AT LEAST 50 SILVER IN RESERVE TO CRAFT YOUR JAM PACK.
  • Buy and plant 4-5 Banana Sapling(s) (Sapling Merchant sells). (Note: More plants will require less time/fewer harvests but cost more)
  • Buy and plant 20-23 MORE potato seeds (Seed Merchant sells). This is in addition to the ones you planted before. Note if you run out of room you can use the public farm in Anvilton for them.
  • Water the potatoes. Water is free from wells.

3. Craft your Grape Jam pack.

This pack can only be created in Tigerspine Mountains, so head there when you have your components.

  • Harvest your grapes by clicking the apple icon when they’re labeled “fruited.”
  • Once you have 50 potatoes, buy 5 Blue Salt Knives and a Quality Certificate (General Merchant sells) and right-click the potatoes 5 times in your inventory to get 50 chopped produce.
  • Craft the pack at the specialty workbench in Anvilton.

Hop on the carriage, making sure you’re at the right one — there are three clustered together. Follow the images for the correct route.

After you drop your pack off at Austera docks, head back to Trading Guide Sahel (Anvilton in Tigerspine Mountains) to turn it in. He’ll give you the followup quest Trade Run: Mahadevi to Solzreed, with your Large Scarecrow as the reward.

IMPORTANT! DON’T CUT YOUR BANANA TREES DOWN UNTIL THE WHOLE QUEST IS COMPLETE!

Since this quest takes you to areas where you’ll likely run into PvP, keep your trees alive for now. If you die too far from the turn-in, other players will be able to take your pack and you’ll need to make another one.

1. Decide how you’ll get there.

Before you make your pack, you need to figure out how you’re going to cross the ocean. Your options:

  • Swim.  Slow as hell and you’ll likely run into level 35 and 50 sea creatures. NOT RECOMMENDED
  • Get your rowboat and row. Also slow as hell, and likely PvP fodder. Doable if lucky but NOT RECOMMENDED

Expand for rowboat quest info
  • Group and use a larger ship. This will be faster and there’s safety in numbers. RECOMMENDED

2. Craft Mahadevi Elephant Cookies pack.

  • Harvest your potatoes.
  • Harvest your 10 bananas by clicking the apple icon when they’re “fruited”
  • Buy 5 Blue Salt Knives and a Quality Certificate (General Merchant sells) and right-click the potatoes in your inventory 5 times until you have 50 chopped produce.
  • Follow quest markers to Mahadevi and craft your pack, because it can only be crafted there.

Time to cross the sea.

NOTE: YOU JUST NEED TO GET CLOSE FOR QUEST COMPLETION.

You do not need to actually hand in the pack to receive quest completion, so make sure you’re not repeating the run needlessly if you die.
